Q. How can I join the club?
If you have never done archery before you will need to go on a beginners course.

If you have done archery in the past (at a different club for example) you will have to prove that you have completed a beginners course by providing a copy of the certificate or prove you have experience in archery by providing a Archery GB / G.N.A.S. membership number.

Field archers would need to provide affiliation to a governing body and then complete a refresher course to bring you up to speed with target archery.

Q. What's this 252 scheme that people are talking about?
The 252 scheme is open to all archers of all abilities and bow types and is a system that is used to encourage improvement in your archery skills, the scheme is being used by a number of archery clubs in the UK. Starting at 20 yards you have 3 dozen arrows to reach a specific score (usually 252) before moving onto the next distance.

Q. What's the status of the school sports hall's new flooring?
The laying of the new flooring in the sports hall has now been completed.

When shooting in the sports hall you will need to wear footwear that is dedicated to shooting indoors, this means that you will need to get changed into your indoor shooting footware in the changing rooms before entering the sports hall and then take them off at the end of the shooting session before leaving the building.

Trainers, pump, decking shoes are suitable footwear for shooting indoors as long as they are clean.

Anyone taking equipment to/from the sports hall to the container will need to be wearing outdoor footwear and will have to pass the equipment to people inside the hall wearing indoor footwear.

Obviously this suituation is a new suituation for the club and there are still a number of issues that need to be worked out so we ask all archers to bear with us and to think about possible and practical solutions to the problems we face shooting inside the school's sports hall with this new flooring.
